Pewter and Gold Frames

Elias pewter and gold frames are truly works of
art. The artisans of these frames began
their fine metal work in Europe and later brought
the family business to the United States. The
impeccable metal casting of this degree has for a
long time been confined to the work of select
European foundries but can now be found in the
United States by these superb American
craftsmen. the designers of this line make
everything in their own shop, enabling them to
closely monitor each casting through every step of
production. This meticulous eye for detail
is something not possible with cheap imports and
second-rate domestic castings often manufactured
by job shops for distributors.
The Elias
designers cast, chase, finish and patina each fine piece by
hand, following the steps of old world
artisans. The pewter is alloyed using the
finest and purest metals from around the
globe. This is done to achieve the finest
pewter and guarantee the quality of an alloy whose
exact formula remains a family secret. A
superb casting fine alloy accomplishes the
difficult task of reproducing fine detail is also
the secret to the excellent quality. To make the
18kt Gold Vermeil frames, the same fine
pewter alloy is used and it is electroplated with
real gold to produce these exquisite frames. |

These
frames are the highest quality, unlike most frames
whose plating is done on cheap metal. The
use of fine pewter assures the customer that what
is underneath is as good as what appears on
top.
We believe
that these frames
are exquisite pieces,
destined to become
cherished
heirlooms
